Art Educator
About Sheila…
Sheila Francisco is a Boston-based multimedia artist and art educator dedicated to fostering youth empowerment through the arts. Her pedagogy integrates Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and Teaching for Artistic Behavior (TAB) to help students discover and amplify their unique creative voices. Sheila’s commitment to youth advocacy began at the Railroad Street Youth Project (RSYP), where she transitioned from a program alum to a youth advocate. As a former English Language Learner (ELL) herself, Sheila is a passionate advocate for multilingual education in urban communities. She centers her practice on community building, using the TAB philosophy to create inclusive, student-led environments where every young artist can thrive.
For my students:
On this site, you will find a gallery of my own work, my favorite projects, and a few fun facts about me.
My Art & Passions
I love working with all kinds of mediums, but my specialty is photography—including digital, analog, and alternative photo processes. When I'm not behind a camera, I love to:
Paint in Nature
Draw digitally on my iPad
Create sculptural assemblages
Outside the Classroom
When I’m not teaching or making art, you can usually find me:
Watching YouTube videos
Going on long walks and getting Matcha (window-shopping)
Curating fun playlists based on different vibes
I can’t wait to experiment, create cool art, and learn all about your interests both inside and outside of school!
